Mia Yim shares personal victory outside of WWE
Mia Yim has been pushing forward on WWE SmackDown over the past few months, and it seems that outside of the ring, everything is coming up gold for her, too.
The former NXT Superstar recently shared on her social media pages that her volleyball team had won gold over the weekend. Yim has been an avid volleyball player throughout her wrestling career and attended university on a volleyball scholarship where she played until her senior year.
Yim has updated several times over the past few years, making it clear that she juggles wrestling and volleyball. While she still awaits her first WWE title, she has been able to pick up gold for her team in the sport.
Mia Yim recently underwent a drastic image change on WWE SmackDown
As part of The O.C., Mia Yim was able to help push the team forward but was never taken seriously herself. In recent weeks, she has been able to prove her worth by heading back to NXT and changing her hair color, stripping away the gimmick, and concentrating on herself in the ring.
Mia Yim has also stepped up on SmackDown and become part of a major story with Bayley and Nia Jax ahead of SummerSlam, with Yim taking on both women in recent weeks. She's been able to make a case for herself by being part of the main event on SmackDown last week.
Yim has wrestled all over the world and had already made a name for herself before signing with WWE. However, she has been overlooked for much of her career, from aligning with her husband, Keith Lee, to working with Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson in The O.C.
After several years of waiting, now could finally be her time to shine on the big stage.
