Controversial ex-WWE star sent a letter to Tony Khan after Brodie Lee tribute show
A popular former WWE star has revealed that he sent a letter to AEW president Tony Khan a few years ago. The star in question is none other than Enzo Amore.
Amore was incredibly close to the late Brodie Lee. After Brodie's tragic passing in 2020, Khan held a special episode of Dynamite in memory of the late star.
Enzo Amore recently appeared for an interview with Inside The Ropes. He revealed that he was moved by Tony Khan's gesture and sent him a letter.
"Brodie, one of my good buddies Luke Harper, known as Luke Harper in WWE. When he passed away, that was the first time I tuned into AEW to see the show that they put on for him. And I thought to myself at that time, I even wrote a letter to Tony Khan. I don't know if he ever got it but I thanked him for doing that. Just what you did for my friend, the way you honored him and the other company that he used to work for didn't really honor him at all, and I just thought it was class and that they did something right." Tony Khan was present during the emotional conclusion of the Brodie Lee tribute show
Cody Rhodes cut a heartfelt promo during the final segment of AEW's Brodie Lee tribute show back in 2020. Brodie's wife and son came out soon after, and so did Khan.
The AEW President also cut a promo remembering Brodie Lee and a vignette celebrating his life was displayed before the show went off the air. AEW received immense praise from Wrestling Twitter for its tribute show remembering Lee and his career as a wrestler.
