Former WWE Superstar claims he signed with major company following departure

A veteran of the professional wrestling world, best known for his stint in WWE—and still contracted to the sports entertainment giant—has now disclosed big news on social media. The star in question has also caused quite a stir online with recent remarks about the company.

Alvin Burke Jr., who performs in WWE under the ring name MVP, has become a controversial name of late owing to his many comments about the company and management. He blasted current Chief Content Officer Paul "Triple H" Levesque for the latter's lack of concern for members of the popular faction Hurt Business, who were prematurely disbanded during Vince McMahon's regime.

MVP was managing the 30-year-old and over 7-foot tall Omos from 2022 to 2023 before the two disappeared from television. They were part of notable storylines but ever since last summer, WWE has not mentioned anything regarding them.

Taking to Instagram, MVP shared a few snaps from his recent tour to Old Trafford Stadium, Greater Manchester, England. In the caption of the post, the former Hurt Business member jokingly said that he has signed a contract with Manchester United.

"BREAKING NEWS!!!! MVP has signed a new contract!!!!! #manchesterunited #manchester #oldtraffordstadium," read the caption of MVP's Instagram post.

MVP is a big Manchester United fan, last year he and Omos linked with the players after their major win against Arsenal. A report confirmed that the Stamford-based wrestling juggernaut has no intentions of bringing him back. Whether there is some element of truth to the matter bears watching. Needless to say, the former United States Champion's news was the last thing any wrestling fan could have anticipated.

What about MVP's pet project in WWE, The Nigerian Giant Omos?

Omos began a feud with Bobby Lashley in 2022, which opened up the possibility for WWE Creative to pair The Nigerian Giant with MVP, whose veteran experience meant to prove useful for the former. And it did.

Since MVP sided with Omos, the latter had notable programs against the likes of Seth Rollins, Braun Strowman, and at WrestleMania 39 with Brock Lesnar. He even worked many live events in 2023 alongside MVP.

With the wrestler-turned-manager now seemingly on his way out, where that leaves The Nigerian Giant is unclear. The 30-year-old appears to have debunked rumors of WWE giving up on him on social media:

"Journalism has turned into National Inquirer 😂," Omos wrote on X.

Omos has held the RAW Tag Team Championship once with AJ Styles. In the past, he had opened up about how he dealt with body dysmorphia, while his manager MVP iterated that the latter wants to guide him towards winning the top prize of the company. The Nigerian Giant's last match to date was on the April 5 episode of SmackDown, in which he failed to win the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal.
