Corey Graves sends a heartfelt message to his wife amid WWE hiatus

WWE star Corey Graves has sent a heartfelt message to his wife via a social media update. The former 24/7 Champion is currently a commentator on Friday Night SmackDown alongside Michael Cole.

The 40-year-old is married to fellow WWE star Carmella, who has been absent from television since March 2023. The wrestling couple welcomed their son, Dimitri, on November 8 last year. Mella, a former Women's Champion, turned 37 today.

Graves took to his Instagram account to wish Carmella a happy birthday. The former NXT Tag Team Champion posted multiple pictures of his wife and expressed his love for her in the caption.

"The Happiest of Birthdays to this Babe. My bride. My baby mama. My best friend. This last year has been as tough as it has been amazing. But, there's nobody I'd rather "do life" with than you, @carmellawwe. Happy Birthday, my Queen," Graves wrote.

Veteran WWE commentator names Corey Graves as his perfect replacement

Corey Graves has been with the wrestling promotion as a commentator after he announced his retirement from in-ring action. He has been calling matches on the main roster since 2016. Considering his work, The Voice of WWE, Micahel Cole, named Graves his perfect replacement earlier this year.

During an interview with Awful Announcing, Cole shared his honest opinion on Graves' work over the years. While praising the 40-year-old, the veteran stated that he believed the latter would be the one to replace him following his retirement:

"[It was] a matter of giving him the opportunity to sit side by side for many years, to watch, learn, study, and see how I do things. And at the end of the day, when we gave him the shot? He's been killing it. I believe he's the heir apparent. Corey now has a Corey Graves Voice. A lot of the issues we had were that we tried to develop commentators to be Michael Cole. Now, we have a chance to develop Corey Graves. I truly, honestly believe he's going to be the one to replace me. He's an incredible human being. He has a great opportunity," Cole said. Micahel Cole was absent from the latest edition of Friday Night SmackDown. In the absence of the 55-year-old, RAW commentator Wade Barrett joined Corey Graves on the desk.
