Current champion's 121-day streak comes to an end on WWE RAW
This week's episode of Monday Night RAW was main evented by Imperium as Gunther made his in-ring return on the red brand.
Imperium were defeated in the main event by Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, and Matt Riddle after Gunther was taken out of the match, and Giovanni Vinci was the man who was targeted by the trio for the pin.
Interestingly, this isn't the first time that Imperium has been defeated on RAW after the duo were also pinned back at RAW XXX when they took on Montez Ford, Angelo Dawkins, and Seth Rollins.
The trio were drafted over to RAW last month but have made several appearances on the show in recent months, dating back to the turn of the year.
Gunther remains unpinned in singles competition, but this is the second six-man tag team match that he has lost on RAW this year in a span of 121 days, and this defeat also continues Ludwig Kaiser and Vinci's current losing streak.
The Ring General will definitely not be happy with this loss, especially since he wasn't part of the finish, and this was his first match as an official member of the RAW brand.
