Current champion sends four-word message ahead of WWE RAW
Tonight's WWE RAW emanates from Resch Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and CM Punk will be making an appearance on the flagship show. With SummerSlam less than two weeks away, fans can perhaps expect some clarity on Punk's status for the show in Cleveland on August 3.
Although not booked for the upcoming premium live event, The Judgment Day's Finn Bálor and JD McDonagh are on top of RAW's tag team division. They won the World Tag Team Championship from the Awesome Truth a few weeks ago.
Taking to Instagram, McDonagh looks content with his position on the red brand and the way things are going right now. This is his first championship reign in WWE since joining the main roster a year ago:
"These are the days. 😁🏆," he wrote.
The Judgment Day has once again become one of the most talked about aspects of the flagship show owing in large part to the star power of Rhea Ripley, who is back in time for a Women's World Championship match against Liv Morgan. World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest will also look to regain some momentum after Gunther seemingly gained the upper hand in their in-ring promo last week.
Finn Bálor breaks character to praise The Judgment Day's rival on WWE RAW
Damian Priest has crossed 100 days as World Heavyweight Champion, defying the odds of being a "transitional champion" as Drew McIntyre put it in April. Priest racked up wins over top players such as the Scotsman himself, Jey Uso, and Seth Rollins, among other former world champions, in the last few months. Be that as it may, a lot of fans expect to see Gunther walk out of Cleveland with the gold.
Speaking on What's The Story? recently, Finn Bálor admitted that The Ring General is on an elite level as a performer:
"WALTER, Gunther... whatever you wanna call him, in my opinion, is probably the best performer on Earth right now. In my opinion, to watch in the ring. I want to see everything that he does. There’s no bits where I know what he’s going to do for the next 5 minutes... he's truly interesting to me," Finn Bálor said.
The Austrian won the 2024 King of the Ring Tournament in May, and in turn, became the first WWE Superstar since Brock Lesnar 22 years ago to receive a world title shot at SummerSlam on account of this accomplishment.
