Current champion teases future dream match against CM Punk in the opening segment of WWE RAW
CM Punk's return right before Survivor Series took many by surprise, as it looked like he would be out until Royal Rumble 2025 following his war at Bad Blood. However, a current champion has teased another future match on RAW.
Gunther has now teased a match against Punk. There are still many names who the latter has to cross paths with upon his return to WWE. 2024 proved to be a massive success for him with the Drew McIntyre trilogy and the WarGames match, where he was a last-minute addition and played a direct role in helping Team OG Bloodline win. That, of course, was for a favor that Punk teased to be WrestleMania-related.
Meanwhile, in the opening segment of RAW tonight, World Heavyweight Champion Gunther declared himself as the Best in the World - teasing a match against CM Punk:
The segment saw Gunther and Finn Balor engage in a verbal battle that resulted in Damian Priest getting involved. Meanwhile, The Judgment Day stood tall as they took out both Gunther and Priest.
Meanwhile, CM Punk had an interview with Jackie Redmond, during which he refused to disclose the "favor" that Paul Heyman and he agreed upon. However, he revealed that a 16-year-old Seth Rollins came to him for help and desired free training—a sense of "entitlement" that Punk said has transferred into the adult version of The Visionary.
Things are getting interesting as the year comes to an end.
