Current TNA star returns to WWE and helps Trick Williams defeat two former AEW wrestlers
On the latest episode of WWE NXT, Trick Williams teamed up with current TNA star Joe Hendry to take on former AEW wrestlers Shawn Spears and Ethan Page in a tag team match. Hendry made a surprise appearance on the show, where he was revealed as Trick's mystery partner.
This was his second time competing in a match on the developmental brand. He participated in the 25-man battle royal a few weeks ago to determine the #1 contender for the NXT Championship, but was eliminated as soon as he entered the ring.
Trick Williams and Ethan Page started things off. After some back and forth, Joe Hendry entered and planted the new NXT Champion with a delayed suplex. Trick then wiped out the two heels at ringside with a suicide dive. All Ego hit the TNA star with a few kicks and tagged Spears, who nailed the latter with a chop.
Later on, The Chairman hit Trick Williams with a neckbreaker, and he and Ethan Page dropped the former champion with a double suplex. During the match, Oro Mensah showed up and chased off Ethan Page, who escaped through the crowd. Joe Hendry nailed Shawn Spears with a fallway slam and hit his finisher to win the match for his team.
