Current World Champion recalls major WWE match involving Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens, and other superstars

At WrestleMania 32, the WWE Intercontinental Championship was defended in a Seven-Man Ladder Match. On Twitter/X, Nic Nemeth, formerly known as Dolph Ziggler, recalled the match.

Kevin Owens walked into the match as the defending Intercontinental Champion. The match also involved Cody Rhodes (known as Stardust at the time), Sami Zayn, Zack Ryder, Sin Cara, The Miz, and Ziggler. Eventually, Ryder walked out as the victor, winning the Intercontinental Championship for the first time in his career.

In his tweet, Nemeth recalled the contest and claimed the ending of the match was perfectly done, with Ryder walking out as champion.

"Love this match. Love the stories. Love the hard hitting. And the ending is so perfectly done, right down to mister Ryder," wrote Nemeth.

Nic Nemeth (Dolph Ziggler) took a dig at Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes for his "Finish The Story" narrative

Nic Nemeth, formerly known as Dolph Ziggler, wasn't the biggest fan of Cody Rhodes' "Finish The Story" narrative.

Speaking on the Busted Open podcast, Nemeth briefly discussed Rhodes' two-year story and questioned the storyline. He said:

"I appreciate this two-year story, I really do. I just think it's so funny that finishing the story isn't like the end of the storyline. It's like 'No, he has to win 'cause his dad wasn't champion.' That's the story?"

After failing to beat Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39, Rhodes dethroned the now-former Undisputed WWE Universal Champion in the main event of WrestleMania XL. He will defend the title against Solo Sikoa at the upcoming SummerSlam Premium Live Event.

Meanwhile, WWE released Nemeth in 2023. Following his departure from the company, he has appeared in multiple promotions, including TNA and New Japan Pro-Wrestling. He is the reigning TNA World Champion after beating Moose to win the title at Slammiversary 2024.
