Current WWE champion was "legitimately shaking" after highly physical match
WWE Superstars are constantly striving to write their names in the history books by achieving some remarkable feats. A 25-year-old star recently opened up about doing something that might never be forgotten.
Kelani Jordan impressed the NXT management and WWE Universe with her uber-athletic skills in the ring. Her impressive work earned her the NXT Women’s North American Championship at just 25 years of age. She did so after competing in a highly physical ladder match that saw the stars pull off some insane moves.
The first-ever NXT Women's North American Champion recently opened up about being overcome with emotions after her massive win at NXT Battleground. She talked about how she couldn’t believe what she had achieved in a talk with Muscle Memory.
"It felt amazing [to win the NXT Women's North American Championship]," Jordan said. "I remember when I was sitting on top of the ladder. I was legitimately shaking. My hands were shaking and I was like 'Oh my gosh.' It felt so surreal, almost like an out-of-body experience, because I was looking around at the fans, and just being able to realize like 'Oh, I just made history.' I don't know, it's kind of hard to explain the moment because I was almost in a fever dream. I couldn't fully take in what was happening because I was so in shock." (H/T Wrestling Inc.)
Kelani Jordan made history by becoming the inaugural NXT Women’s North American Champion. She has done well to defend her title against many big names to prove herself as a worthy champion.
Kelani Jordan's parents have been proud of her WWE success
The former gymnast has done well to become a full-time WWE Superstar. In her talk with Muscle Memory, the NXT Women’s North American Champion stated that her parents were extremely proud of her win at Battleground.
She revealed that her mother was always crying tears of pride with each one of her successful matches. However, the championship win at Battleground caused her father to break into tears too.
"My mom cries all the time, but my dad never cries," Jordan said. "So when I saw my dad crying, I was like 'Wow.' It made me tear up even more because it not only showed that he was proud, but it also was crazy because we watched wrestling growing up."
WWE fans will likely see Kelani move to the main roster soon. She could work on the same brand as her boyfriend as Triple H looks to bring WWE couples closer together so they can share similar traveling schedules.
