Current WWE champions not featured on new SmackDown intro; many major stars miss out
WWE SmackDown's season premiere came with a number of changes for the brand, including a new logo and theme song. The new intro was later shared on social media and the video heavily featured the likes of Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, TIffany Stratton, LA Knight, and Jacob Fatu.
It's clear that there are several stars that the company wants to push the brand forward in the new era, but there are others who were not featured at all. Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa are currently holding the WWE Tag Team Championship and were only seen in passing as the frame focused on Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu.
Several other stars who missed out on the intro were Chelsea Green, AJ Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Piper Niven. Some fans felt that while the intro was just twenty seconds long and was unable to feature the whole roster, the decision to skip whole stables like Legadao Del Fantasma and focus on people like Cargill and Belair and give them much more time than anyone else was surprising.
It's clear who the stars of the next generation of SmackDown are, but now there are many stars who's futures on the brand remain in doubt if they are not even featured on the weekly intro.
