Current WWE Superstar responds to a fan appeal to drastically change his appearance after SmackDown

After tonight's WWE SmackDown, LWO member Santos Escobar replied to a fan request that he should wear his former mask again now that he has joined forces with legendary luchador Rey Mysterio.

Santos Escobar debuted in NXT as El Hijo del Fantasma in the NXT Cruiserweight Title competition. For a time, the 39-year-old always honoured his Mexican roots with Lucha Libre wrestling.

After winning the NXT Cruiserweight Championship, he revealed himself as Santos Escobar, removing the mask. He joined forces with Raul Mendoza and Joaquin Wilde as Legado del Fantasmo.

Escobar once explained why he began with the mask: he wanted to honour his father, El Fantasma. Following the Friday Night SmackDown, a fan on Twitter appealed to Escobar that he should consider wearing his mask again; now that he is in the LWO. It would be a great time to bring it back.

The 39-year-old WWE star responded with a "thinking" emoji, implying he may wear the mask inside the ring down the line.

Tonight on the blue brand, the former NXT Cruiserweight Champion tagged along with Rey Mysterio to take down The Usos in a tag team match.

Courtesy of the interruption of Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, Mysterio and Escobar defeated The Bloodline member and sent them back to Roman Reigns with humiliation.
