Damage CTRL member injured in attack backstage; IYO SKY takes her spot in major match

A Damage CTRL member was injured in a backstage assault. IYO SKY took her place in a major match.

A few weeks ago, Damage CTRL was brutally ambushed by Sonya Deville, Shayna Baszler, and Zoey Stark. This assault resulted in them being off television for a while. But when they returned, they went after the newly formed faction kickstarting a rivalry between them.

Tonight on WWE RAW, Baszler, Stark, and Deville were attacking Lyra Valkyria in the ring when IYO SKY, Dakota Kai, and Kairi Sane showed up to brawl with Deville's faction. Hence, a singles match was scheduled between Dakota Kai and Sonya Deville for later in the night.

However, moments before the match, Damage CTRL was attacked again by Deville and her stablemates. They seemingly injured the knee of Kai who has a history of knee issues.

Deville then went out to the ring and got on the mic to say that Kai had been feeling under the weather and wouldn't be able to make their match. However, IYO SKY's music played and she came out to the ring to replace her stablemate.

During the match, Zoey Stark tried to get involved but Kairi Sane took her out. In the end, it was SKY who emerged victorious.

This win also extends IYO SKY's winning streak in WWE televised matches to five. It looks like she has gotten back on track after her WrestleMania 40 loss.
