Damage CTRL member shares heartwarming message ahead of big WWE event

A current member of Damage CTRL has posted a heartwarming message on social media ahead of WWE's latest big event. Dakota Kai reminisced about her time in Japan as the company visited the country for a live event tour.

Before coming to WWE, Kai wrestled around the world for several promotions, including Pro Wrestling Zero1, Sendai Girls' Pro Wrestling, and World Wonder Ring Stardom in Japan. She was wrestling as Evie back then and will now represent WWE in its tour of the country.

Here's what the WWE star wrote about her history with Japan on X/Twitter:

"The last time I was in Japan was start of 2016, working as a freelance wrestler with promotions like Stardom and Sendai Girls. Just landed in Tokyo and about to do shows with WWE. What is life."

WWE is scheduled to present shows in Japan for three days on July 25 in Osaka and on July 27 and 28 in Tokyo. Damage CTRL is scheduled to wrestle at the three live events against Bianca Belair, Jade Cargill, and Meiko Satomura. It will mark Satomura's WWE in-ring return for the first time since losing to Roxanne Perez at NXT Roadblock in March 2023.

WWE's Japan tour will be homecoming for two Damage CTRL members

For the first time in five years, WWE is back in Japan with a three-day tour in Osaka and Tokyo. The event will be a homecoming for two of the three active members of Damage CTRL-IYO SKY and Kairi Sane.

SKY is from Kanagawa and made her name in promotions such as Pro Wrestling Wave, JWP Joshi Puroresu, and Sendai Girls' Pro Wrestling. She then traveled to Mexico to hone her craft in 2010 before returning to Japan to reach superstardom at World Wonder Ring Stardom.

Meanwhile, Sane is from Hikari in Yamaguchi and is currently in her second stint with WWE. She was one of the top stars of Stardom for the majority of the 2010s before coming to the United States.

It would have also been a homecoming for Asuka, who is still a member of the stable. However, The Empress of Tomorrow is currently nursing a knee injury and will likely return next year.
