Damian Priest lost a major opportunity as WWE was trying to push another talent, believes veteran
A WWE veteran believes Damian Priest might have lost a major opportunity due to the Stamford-based promotion wanting to push some other talent. The veteran in question is Al Snow.
Priest signed a contract with World Wrestling Entertainment in 2018 and started performing for the company's developmental brand, where he won the NXT North American Championship. Since shifting to the main roster and being under Triple H's leadership, The Archer of Infamy has become one of the biggest faces of the company by winning several titles, including the World Heavyweight Championship.
Damian Priest recently revealed that he got an opportunity to work with Marvel for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, but it got taken away from him, seemingly by WWE.
During an edition of Vince Russo's The Brand podcast, wrestling veteran Al Snow said that these kinds of things do happen in business. Snow also mentioned that he believed WWE might have wanted to push someone else for the opportunity with Marvel, and that is the reason why it got taken away from Priest.
"Oh, that does happen. You know the company has designs on certain talent, and if a talent that is not part of that design is offered a major opportunity like that, that would increase the exposure of, say, another talent they're really wanting to try to push. Yeah, I mean that's happened for years, you know, where they go, 'We can't give you Damian Priest. We can give you this guy; what about that?' And then, of course, you know they don't have an interest in that guy, and then the opportunity just goes away altogether for WWE," he said. [From 0:36 - 1:12]
