Damian Priest possibly uncomfortable with current gimmick, according to former WWE manager

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest has a new rival in Seth Rollins. The two stars confronted each other this past Monday Night on WWE RAW. The former manager who gave his opinion was Jim Cornette.

Rollins returned to the flagship show after an injury this past Monday. He claimed Monday Night Rollins was back and he wanted to get back on top. Priest then interrupted his promo. The champ said that he wanted to prove himself against Seth and issued a challenge for Money in the Bank.

This week on Jim Cornette's Drive Thru, the veteran claimed that Priest was still somehow not connecting with the fans. He felt that something was missing in the champion's presentation. Cornette detailed that he had been making efforts to have a more credible image away from The Judgment Day but was possibly not yet comfortable on his own.

"I hate to say it because they're doing what we wanted them to do, which is make him more credible as a singles guy. Is it he just hasn't got comfortable yet to do his own thing or is this his own thing? I don't know, maybe they're telling him to say many of these things." [From 2:40 - 3:00]

Damian Priest defended his title against Drew McIntyre

Last week at Clash at the Castle: Scotland, Damian Priest was faced with the challenge of taking down Drew McIntyre.

The Scottish Warrior was in front of his hometown fans in Glasgow, Scotland. The two men went to war with the fate of the World Heavyweight Title hanging in the balance.

Drew pinned Damian Priest but the referee was incapacitated. However, a new referee rushed to the middle but he stopped the count after two. This new official was none other than CM Punk. Punk kicked Drew below the belt, allowing The Judgment Day member to pin McIntyre with the South of Heaven Chokeslam.
