WWE News: Daniel Bryan on which WrestleMania 33 match he's looking forward to the most

SmackDown Live General Manager Daniel Bryan reveals what match he’s looking forward to the most at WrestleMania

What’s the story?

WWE SmackDown LIVE General Manager Daniel Bryan may not be a part of this year’s WrestleMania as a competitor, but the leader of the blue brand is heading into his first ‘Show Of Shows’ as a first-year GM.

Just because he isn’t in the ring doesn’t mean he won’t be enjoying the festivities, however, as Bryan recently told Myles Galloway that the match he is most excited to see at WrestleMania is the WWE title match between Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt.

In case you didn’t know...

Orton was once aligned with the Wyatt Family when he won the 2017 Royal Rumble match. Because of his allegiance to Wyatt, Orton stated that he would relinquish his No. 1-contendership for the title and refused to fight his brother, and WWE Champion, Bray Wyatt.

Soon after that, however, Orton would burn down the Wyatt Family home and turn on Bray, revealing his intentions to invoke his title shot opportunity at WrestleMania.

The heart of the matter:

Here’s what Bryan had to say about the match he’s looking forward to the most at WrestleMania 33:

“Really hard to say. I think I am excited to see Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt the most. I think they are both on top of their game so I can’t wait to see it, but it’s weird, I have a lot of matches I am really looking forward to that aren’t SmackDown matches.

I have known Austin Aries for years. I wrestled him for 76 minutes in 2004, which was 13 years ago, but this will be his first WrestleMania and am excited for guys like that.

I am excited for the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal because I love Battle Royals, which you never know what is going to happen.

Also looking forward to the Nikki Bella/John Cena vs Maryse/Miz match. I wanted it to be a face-punching extravaganza, I hope it’s a face punching extravaganza where it goes one way.

I don’t know if you have seen John Cena’s fists but he has some really big hands.”

What’s next?

Daniel Bryan has been doing a great job since becoming the SmackDown Live General Manager, and the people are very much behind him.

Bryan and brand commissioner Shane McMahon have arguably made SmackDown LIVE the new show to watch as opposed to their Monday night adversary RAW.

Although there may be an extremely slight possibility that Bryan could return to the ring for one last match, he has a long-standing position as SmackDown LIVE General Manager for as long as he wants it.

Author’s take:

Personally, I am not looking forward to the WWE Title match between Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton as much as Bryan is.

While he must feel obligated to say such a thing because he is the SmackDown LIVE General Manager, the storyline for the match has just become less and less interesting to me as the weeks have progressed since the Royal Rumble.

Due to the fact that the overall consensus regarding the match seems to be the same amongst WWE fans, it will most likely land on the mid-section of the card.
