WWE News: Did Daniel Bryan & Renee Young accidentally confirm Goldberg vs. Lesnar?
The highly anticipated match between Bill Goldberg and Brock Lesnar might just have been accidentally confirmed by Daniel Bryan and Renee Young on the latest episode of Talking Smack.
Although the official announcement is yet to be made, the build up suggests that The Beast Incarnate and the former WCW Heavyweight Champion will face each other at Survivor Series. During the episode, Renee Young asked the GM of Smackdown, Daniel, what he thought about “RAW recently signing Bill Goldberg”.
Bryan as always keen on pushing newer talent conveyed that it might be better to have a match with new wrestlers on the roster than Goldberg vs. Lesnar.
While staying true to views, he did accept that he was really excited to see the match, “It's going to be an awesome match. It's going to be on the co-branded show, but I don't like that they are putting it together and not us.”
Call it as an accidental leak or maybe the first official announcement from the company, the chances of Goldberg facing Brock Lesnar at the co-branded Pay-Per-View look really bright. The annual festival of worshipping at the altar of the attitude-era has begun.
The WWE Universe will see Goldberg wrestle in the ring after a span of 12 years! His last appearance in the squared circle was at Wrestlemania XX in his victorious match against Lesnar.
After that, he did work with the company for a year from 2003-2004 but relations between the two deteriorated quickly and the contract was ended with bad blood from both sides.
But with Goldberg signing with 2K sports, he considered the past issues to be bygones and was once again open to working with the organisation. This is the third time that 2K sports signees have been given a contract with WWE, the predecessors being Ultimate Warrior and Sting.
Another source says that @Goldberg vs @BrockLesnar is a done deal and that it will likely go down at #SurvivorSeries. If true, bravo @wwe

Although the build up to the event till now has only been seen on media but we might get to witness some action in the ring next week after Goldberg tweeted a reply to Heyman's challenge.
Booking my flight to answer that big mouth @HeymanHustle 's challenge next week in person on #MondayNightRaw #WhosNext? #seeyathere @WWE

It would be great to see the actual buildup being done the traditional way with a lot of backstage segments featuring Goldberg's return being spoken between Stephanie and Foley and then a surprise return followed up by a few close to squash matches on the red brand's live shows and Lesnar returning on one of those.
This match, although seems like a quick fix, will draw a lot of eyes towards the product both from the fans of attitude era and WCW purists.
Survivor Series will be a co-branded PPV and will be live from Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario on November 30th.
