Dijak clarifies rumored reason WWE didn't renew his contract; speaks on rumors of leaking "secrets" and what actually happened (Exclusive)
Former WWE star Donovan Dijak is no longer with the company as he left after his contract was not renewed. Following his departure, there were some rumors as to the reason his contract was not renewed, and now the star has provided a clarification about the same.
When Dijak departed the company, a rumor started on Reddit that appeared to state that his contract was not renewed because he had been leaking information to those reporting wrestling news. The star has since started working elsewhere.
When Sportskeeda Wrestling's Dr. Chris Featherstone spoke to him recently, he asked about the rumor as well as the reason behind his departure. Dijak stated that he was never told why WWE didn't renew his contract. However, when it came to leaking information, the star said that the entire thing was taken out of context. A poster on Reddit had claimed that he had admitted to leaking information to Sean Ross Sapp while still in WWE, during a live stream.
However, during the livestream, Dijak had in reality been referring to an interview he had taken part in. The reference to speaking on the interview had made sense to his co-hosts, but fans, who did not have the full story of his interview, thought this was him admitting to leaking information.
"Somebody made a comment stating that I had admitted on my Thursday (6/27) night livestream to leaking information to Sean Ross Sapp. This Reddit comment was screenshot and shared on Twitter, where some people just accepted it as fact. The livestream is on YouTube, anyone can go watch it. What I said on stream about talking to Sean was in reference to the interview I had recorded with Sean about 7 hours before. I recorded the Fightful interview at 1:30pm on Thursday, but it wasn’t released publicly until Friday per my request because I wanted my livestream to air first."
The star went on to add that he didn't leak anything and clarified that WWE didn't provide most stars with enough secrets or information for them to leak in the first place. Such information would have to come out of a production meeting, something stars were not a part of.
"Long story short, no, I didn’t leak to dirt sheets. Quite frankly WWE doesn’t really provide most talent with vital information or “secrets” regardless. When you see something 'leaked' in a dirt sheet that information almost always comes from a production meeting which doesn’t involve talent."
The real reason the star was let go remains uncertain, but at least, this helps to dispel any rumors about leaks.
