"DO SOMETHING" - Chelsea Green sends message to top names following 41-year-old WWE star's threat
Chelsea Green and Piper Niven are the current WWE Women's Tag Team Champions. There has been a lack of storylines for the division of late, as opined by many viewers. However, the angle involving WWE veteran Natalya facing opposition alone is interesting.
After being on the losing end against Piper Niven a week ago and in tag team action this past Monday night, Natalya may be looking to find a new ally to take down the champions. Nikki Cross did not help matters after resurfacing on WWE TV to side with The Queen of Harts.
Natalya posted on social media that her new "assistant" was tasked to "unleash hell" on Chelsea Green and Piper Niven. This was, in turn, a response to Green's mockery of The Queen of Harts and "all of her amazing tag team partners" post.
The champion responded by raising a complaint to the general managers of both brands, Adam Peare and Nick Aldis:
"@ScrapDaddyAP @RealNickAldis DO SOMETHING. NOBODY disrespects champions like this," Green wrote on Twitter/X.
Check out Natalya's reaction to the post mentioned above and Chelsea Green's response below:
It remains to be seen if this will lead to Natalya finally getting a tag team partner to take down the Women's Tag Team Champions. The division is finally getting proper attention for the first time in a while.
Women's World title contender discusses the "curse" of the WWE Tag Team Championship in the division
During an interview she did on The Dallas Morning News, Raquel Rodriguez disclosed that she isn't a superstitious person, but has come to believe that there might just be a curse surrounding the tag titles:
"I do think there is a little bit of a curse," Rodriguez began. "Liv [Morgan] and I, from the very beginning when we started tagging together, we told each other that this was something we wanted to build up. We wanted to make the women's tag team titles something as important. They should be on the same level, on the same pedestal as the World Women's Championship, as any championship really on the WWE roster," she said.
On account of the curse, as the former champion put it, she added:
"So I'm kind of relieved that right now I'm not in that picture at the moment, even though I miss my buddy Liv. But at the same time, I feel for Chelsea [Green], I feel for Piper [Niven] and I just hope that they're able to be the champions that I know they want to be representing those titles."
Raquel Rodriguez will challenge Rhea Ripley at WWE Crown Jewel. She is among four looking to steal the title from Mami.
Rodriguez previously held the Women's Tag Team Championship alongside Liv Morgan before dropping them to Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville after a relatively short reign. Deville got sidelined with a torn ACL and was ultimately replaced by Piper Niven.
