Dominik Mysterio discusses being the first opponent for CM Punk during his WWE return

RAW star Dominik Mysterio recently commented on his match against CM Punk at a WWE Live Event in Madison Square Garden on December 30, 2023.

Speaking with Chris Van Vliet on the INSIGHT podcast, Dominik Mysterio shared that he was surprised to be selected as CM Punk's first opponent in his return to the company. The former North American Champion noted that the company trusted him to work with Punk, and he was happy to give the 46-year-old his first punch back in WWE.

"Yeah, kind of crazy. I didn't expect it to be me, just because we have so much great talent right now, especially the roster we have today, Raw and SmackDown. But the fact that they trusted me to go in there with him on his first match back, like you said, after what, 10 years, I'm glad I was able to give him his first punch," Mysterio said. [H/T - CVV]
