Dominik Mysterio says he has a score to settle with two-time WWE Champion from 14 years ago

Dominik Mysterio is one of the fastest-rising young WWE Superstars of today. He may not be a consistent in-ring worker on television, but he is incredibly over among fans as a top-tier heel.

Speaking of those wrestlers who generate nuclear heat, CM Punk was at the top of his game when he sang a birthday song to WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio's daughter and Dom's sister, Aalyah Gutierrez. The young Mysterio looked back to this SmackDown segment in 2010.

In an interview with Adam Barnard on Fountain Radio, 'Dirty' Dom' took a dig at his father, claiming that he and the luchador legend had the same height at the time. He then came to The Best in the World, calling the latter an "old man" and laying down a challenge:

"First of all, last I was in the ring with CM Punk, I was 11 years old, and he thought he was a big man, singing happy birthday to my loser sister. But anyways, I’d like to see him now. I was my dad’s height [back then]. So now I’m 6’1, 200 pounds. I’ve seen him wrestle, CM Punk, so let’s see what you got, old man," Dominik Mysterio said. [From 4:00 to 4:34]

Dominik Mysterio was CM Punk's first opponent in WWE after a decade, upon the former AEW World Champion's return in November 2023. They wrestled at a live event over Christmas week.

Dominik Mysterio slams CM Punk and Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson as a couple of "old heads"

Like CM Punk, Dwayne Johnson made a shocking comeback to WWE in September 2023 and had an extended run on the Road To WrestleMania XL.

Dominik Mysterio feels guys like CM Punk and The Rock simply cannot hang with the young stalwarts of today. He further made an emphatic statement about the first-ballot future WWE Hall of Famers:

"Honestly, I’m just tired of these old heads thinking they can hang and come in here with this younger generation. I don’t even want to speak for everyone else. I’m speaking for just myself. The end of the day, I’m my own person. I’m the greatest Mysterio of all time. These old heads want to come in and get it, they all can. CM Punk, The Rock, don’t matter. They’re just mad because they don’t have hair, and I have the best hair and the best mustache." [From 4:59 to 5:24]

The former NXT North American Champion also hinted at his next move on Monday Night RAW in the same interview, revealing himself as a lurking challenger to IC Champion Jey Uso.
