"Dream come true" - Ex-WWE star on competing at WrestleMania against Sheamus

Sheamus has spent over a decade with WWE and worked on different divisions under the two regimes. Recently, former United States Champion Matt Riddle spoke highly of The Celtic Warrior and said it was a dream come true for him to compete against the veteran at WrestleMania 37.

Sheamus has competed on numerous occasions at The Grandest Stage of Them All. The Celtic Warrior has walked in and out of the event with championship gold around his waist. The last time the Fella walked out of the event with gold was in 2021 against Matt Riddle.

Speaking to Muscle Man Malcolm, the former WWE Superstar Matt Riddle recalled his first WrestleMania match against Sheamus. The star praised the former World Champion and their match, regardless of losing the United States Championship at The Showcase of the Immortals.

"I mean, I barely remember it after that Brouge Kick at the end, but that's just how it goes. And, Sheamus is a top-tier competitor, multiple-time World Champion, and the guy's a real fella. So, working with him at WrestleMania was a dream come true, and then to have the match that we did, especially with all the rain and obstacles in Tampa, was pretty sick," Riddle said. Sheamus wants to capture the Intercontinental Championship after returning to WWE RAW

Earlier this year, Sheamus returned to WWE after an eight-month absence from weekly television. The Celtic Warrior joined Monday Night RAW after The Brawling Brutes disbanded on SmackDown.

However, the former World Champion returned to the company with a purpose. He wants to capture the only title that has eluded him in his illustrious WWE career, the Intercontinental Championship.

Sadly, new challengers, such as Bron Breakker and Ludwig Kaiser, have also set their sights on Sami Zayn's title after the champ successfully defended it against Chad Gable in Scotland.

As of now, Breakker has a title match against Zayn in Canada at Money in the Bank 2024. It'll be interesting to see if The Celtic Warrior can finally capture the workhorse title before the end of the year.
