Drew McIntyre could appear in another promotion after quitting WWE, says veteran; a top star to follow
Drew McIntyre quit WWE last Monday on RAW following his loss to Damian Priest at Clash at the Castle. A wrestling veteran now thinks it would be "cool" if The Scottish Warrior appeared in another promotion.
The veteran in question is Matt Morgan. On a recent episode of the Gigantic Pop podcast, the TNA legend discussed the next step for the former World Heavyweight Champion after quitting the company on TV. He stated that it is part of a storyline. He also responded to a fan suggesting that McIntyre should appear in TNA to square off against Moose before CM Punk interferes to cost him the match, claiming it would be "cool."
The wrestling veteran pointed out that the suggested scenario would be perfect to sell the storyline of McIntyre quitting the Stamford-based company:
"That would be cool to sell him quitting because nobody in America bought him quitting last night. As soon as you see the GM from RAW come out there and try to talk to him, you know it's obviously a work. We all know it's a work. He just re-signed, right? So, that would be a great way to sell it, having him popping up on TNA. That would be cool, yeah. I like that," he said. [21:13 - 21:35]
TNA reacted to Drew McIntyre quitting WWE
After getting released from WWE, Drew McIntyre had a two-year run in TNA between 2015 and 2017. The Scottish Warrior held the TNA World Heavyweight Championship and the Impact Grand Championship.
Following his announcement last Monday on RAW, TNA Wrestling posted a clip of McIntyre's debut in the promotion in 2015 on Twitter. The Nashville-based promotion and WWE are currently cooperating.
Multiple TNA stars recently appeared on NXT, including the Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace. Meanwhile, NXT star Tatum Paxley appeared in TNA as she accepted Grace's open challenge a few days ago.
With the current relationship between the Stamford-based company and TNA Wrestling, it will be interesting to see if Drew McIntyre returns to the latter as part of his ongoing storyline.
