Drew McIntyre and CM Punk praised for their "blood feud" ahead of WWE Bad Blood
Drew McIntyre and CM Punk are booked to compete inside Hell in a Cell at WWE Bad Blood. The two men received heavy praise from a hardcore legend ahead of their match.
Tommy Dreamer has been one of the best hardcore wrestlers in history. He is an ECW legend who knows no boundaries when taking and dishing out punishment.
In a recent edition of the Busted Open After Dark, Dreamer talked about how well The Scottish Warrior and The Second City Savior have built their current rivalry. He noted that their feud was currently at its boiling point.
"I felt it has gotten to the point where it's go time between Drew McIntyre and CM Punk. They have done their best to keep these two men away from each other going into Hell in a Cell. Tonight, we heard again from Drew McIntyre and, you know, if I'm going promo to promo ... listen, he cuts one hell of a promo. Drew has become an amazing talker. I thought me, personally, his promo from home was better, because it was an instant response," said Dreamer.
He added that the two men are taking it old school to make things even more interesting. CM Punk and Drew McIntyre have made their rivalry extremely personal and have continued to take shots at each other.
"What I also love about it is the mention of blood," Dreamer added. "[It's] old school. Red equals green. These guys are in a blood feud. These guys have gone personal. They have whipped the crap out of each other. They have just taken this feud to the next level. They have emphasized the importance of Hell in a Cell. Even Drew saying like, 'Hey, man, I don't want to do this, but I have to.'" (H/T Wrestling Inc.)
The match between the two men has the potential to main-event WWE Bad Blood. However, the creative team could give that spot to the match involving Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes.
Drew McIntyre and CM Punk have feuded throughout 2024 in WWE
WWE has done well to build the rivalry between Drew McIntyre and CM Punk that picked up pace at the 2024 Royal Rumble. The Scottish Warrior was responsible for shelving Punk for an extended period during the contest.
Despite the injury, Punk continued to return and cause problems for McIntyre. It ensured that the rivalry would continue to build steam ahead of CM Punk’s in-ring return.
Fans have seen the two men throw everything at each other to make things extremely personal. It has added a new dimension to WWE’s current storylines and ensured that RAW has a personal feud much like The Bloodline’s.
