Drew McIntyre and CM Punk tore the house down at Bad Blood; WWE Hall of Famer believes it "still wasn't as good" as legendary match it was compared to

Drew McIntyre and CM Punk tore the house down at WWE Bad Blood inside Hell in a Cell, but a Hall of Famer believes his legendary match was still better. Bret Hart reacted to the spot where McIntyre and Punk recreated an iconic moment from WrestleMania 13.

The Hell in a Cell Match at Bad Blood was considered by many as one of the best matches of the year. At one point during the match, Punk put a bloodied McIntyre in the Sharpshooter, recreating the legendary spot from The Hitman and Stone Cold Steve Austin's No Disqualification Submission Match that happened 27 years ago.

In an interview on The Wrestling Classic, Hart was asked whether he noticed the spot when he was watching the match. He acknowledged and praised it before claiming that his bout against Austin was still better.

"I always take those as a sort of a nod of respect, so I like it and appreciate it. But it still wasn't as good as my Austin match," Hart said. [7:54 - 8:05]

While Drew McIntyre and CM Punk's match settled their rivalry, Bret Hart vs. Steve Austin resulted in a double turn. It also paved the way for Austin's rise to superstardom as The Texas Rattlesnake.

Bret Hart once called CM Punk his favorite wrestler

In an appearance on The TWC Show last year, Bret Hart discussed CM Punk and even wanted to have a match with him if he could. The Hitman had nothing but praise for The Second City Saint, who has paid tribute to him multiple times by using Hart-inspired ring gear.

"Punk is one of my favorite workers in the business ever and I might give him my jersey today if I see him. But, he's always been one of my most favorite wrestlers. (...) It's fun for me to even imagine [facing Punk]. Even if we didn't do the match, I wish we could just sit down and plan the match, and then animate it or something," Hart said. Punk and Hart once participated in a segment on WWE RAW when the former was the WWE Champion in September 2012. It ended with The Hitman punching the brash champ in the face.
