Drew McIntyre to drag 6' 7" former champion out of retirement for one last match, says WWE analyst
Drew McIntyre has managed to get under the skin of several WWE Superstars since turning heel. Wrestling analyst, Sam Roberts, recently talked about the idea of The Scottish Warrior facing 6' 7" RAW commentator, Wade Barrett, in a dream match.
Wade Barrett had Drew McIntyre's back when CM Punk flew all the way to Scotland to cost his rival yet another chance at regaining the World Heavyweight Championship at Clash at the Castle.
The former King of the Ring winner stood in McIntyre's way several times to avoid getting his friend suspended for his actions. Last week on RAW, The Scottish Psychopath had enough as he confronted Barrett for stopping him during his recent brutal attack on The Best in the World.
McIntyre left Barrett with a warning, telling his long-time friend to stay out of his business. Speaking on the Notsam Wrestling podcast, Sam Roberts said Drew McIntyre has a ready-made feud waiting for him in Wade Barrett once he's done with CM Punk at Bad Blood.
"How does Drew McIntyre get to a place where he feels like, 'Okay! There's a new rivalry that is just as interesting as this old rivalry.' This is a new side of [Drew] McIntyre that we've been seeing. This is a personal side of [Drew] McIntyre. How do we get back to that? We already started bro. [Drew] McIntyre going after Wade Barrett," Roberts said.
Roberts said the two best friends could tell an excellent story that could culminate in a match at some point in the future.
The idea that [Drew] McIntyre is going to Wade Barrett off of commentary. I think we can tell a hell of a story between Wade Barrett and [Drew] McIntyre that results in a match. Afterwards, Wade Barrett goes back to commentary because I think Wade Barrett is pretty damn good on commentary. But I mean, why not? Why not go further with the Drew McIntyre-Wade Barrett thing?" he added. [39:00 - 40:05]

Wade Barrett is open to facing Drew McIntyre in WWE
While speaking to AceOdds earlier this year, Wade Barrett said if he could wrestle one more match, it would be against Drew McIntyre.
The RAW commentator wants his potential return match in front of a sold-out crowd at Wembley Stadium in England:
"If I could have one match for the remainder of my days on this planet, it would absolutely be me against [Drew] McIntyre at Wembley Stadium. If they dangled that in front of me at any point in time, yeah, absolutely. I'm coming back, and I'm having that match sold out at Wembley Stadium. But that is a bit of a pipe dream," he said.
The 44-year-old hasn't competed inside the squared circle since 2016. Does he have one more match left in him? Only time will tell.
