Drew McIntyre makes WWE history with Money in the Bank cash-in

Drew McIntyre has both joined an unfortunate list and made history of his own. After cashing in the briefcase, he made a bit of history that he wouldn't be happy to hear.

Everybody was waiting for the World Heavyweight Title match because of Drew McIntyre - with people fully expecting his cash-in. While McIntyre mocked Damian Priest for holding on to the briefcase for so long, The Archer of Infamy's patience was rewarded nearly nine months after winning the briefcase. The Scottish Warrior chose not to take the patient approach.

Not even waiting for the match to be over, he cashed in the Money in the Bank briefcase, making it a Triple Threat match. Of course, CM Punk came out and interfered - brutally assaulting McIntyre. As a result, Damian Priest pinned Drew, who became the first person in WWE history to fail a cash-in on the same night of winning the briefcase.

Drew McIntyre isn't the first one to fail a cash-in, but other stars on that list, including John Cena, Damien Sandow, Baron Corbin, Braun Strowman, and Austin Theory, all waited for a little longer.

Carmella and Damian Priest are the two longest MITB holders in WWE history, and both proved that patience is, indeed, a virtue.

The fallout from all of this would be incredible. Seth Rollins angrily confronted CM Punk, realizing that he wasn't going to get a World Title shot as long as Damian Priest was the Champion.
