Drew McIntyre opens up on near-death experience in WWE; claims he was "spitting up blood"

WWE star Drew McIntyre recently spoke about a dangerous spot that almost wrecked his body. The star has had a long career in the business and is a three-time World Champion.

McIntyre is currently in the middle of a vicious rivalry with CM Punk. This past week on RAW, McIntyre cut a scathing promo on his opponent ahead of their Hell in a Cell match. The Scottish Warrior revealed that he was stepping into the hellish structure despite his family telling him not to. He vowed to destroy Punk and make him bleed during the encounter.

During a recent interview, Drew McIntyre reflected on his Hell in a Cell match against Randy Orton back in 2020. He claimed the fall that he took was the worst bump of his career. He felt that he had broken his back and neck. He even bit his tongue and was bleeding profusely. The Scottish Warrior wished he never agreed to the spot.

"I thought I legitimately broke my neck and broke something in my back. I bit through my tongue, I was spitting up blood, which we actually incorporated into the match. It was a cool visual. Legitimately the worst fall of my life, I've had these conversations with some of the other guys, like Seth Rollins. If we could both take back one thing in our career, it would be falling off [Hell in a Cell]. Never mind the stuff that happened inside the cell." (H/T Takedown via Sports Illustrated)

Drew McIntyre will be inside Hell in a Cell again

This week at Bad Blood, Drew McIntyre will once again step inside Hell in a Cell. This time it will be against his bitter rival, CM Punk.

The two stars have one win over each other in this rivalry that started at the Royal Rumble PLE. This encounter could be the final frontier of this personal rivalry that has been the talking point of WWE for the last few months.

This week on WWE RAW, the two stars are scheduled to confront each other in the ring. It will be interesting to see what the two men have to say to each other before their encounter.
