Drew McIntyre could pull off babyface turn at Bad Blood, says WWE legend

CM Punk and Drew McIntyre will step inside Hell in a Cell at WWE Bad Blood. Legendary professional wrestler Tommy Dreamer believes The Scottish Warrior could pull off a babyface turn at the State Farm Arena on October 5.

After nine months of surviving injuries, homecoming crashes, destruction of property, and everything else, these two bitter rivals are set to put each other through the wringer. Although the lines were blurred throughout their intense rivalry concerning who was right and wrong, McIntyre has remained mostly on the heel side of the spectrum.

Speaking on Busted Open After Dark, Dreamer noted that the winner of the Hell in a Cell Match becomes the next challenger to World Heavyweight Champion Gunther by default. He discussed the chances of either man winning, stating that if McIntyre were to win, the latter has to be the good guy against The Ring General, and the Scotsman is capable of getting the desired reaction from fans:

"Would I give it to CM Punk? Yes, I would. But like I said, if CM Punk wins, then I think he has to go towards a world title. If CM Punk loses, it's hard to justify giving him a world title shot. So then do you go with Drew? Because I mean, Drew and Gunther would be next level, but then you're pretty much turning one of your biggest heels babyface, which Drew can actually do." CM Punk promises to make Drew McIntyre bleed, The Scottish Warrior responds

Drew McIntyre took the week off this past Monday. Instead, fans got to witness a darker side of CM Punk which was never seen since Punk's WWE return in November 2023. Busted Open Radio's co-host and WWE Hall of Famer, Bully Ray, pointed to the significance of The Straight Edge Superstar's laser-focused promo.

CM Punk claimed that The Scottish Warrior should make his heart stop beating and that one thing he can guarantee is that the latter will bleed inside The Devil's Playground.

At home, McIntyre recorded his response to Punk's message and shared it on social media. Tommy Dreamer noted in the podcast how the Scotsman's response felt "very real" and even revealed that he considers the Scot one of the best mic workers in the wrestling business today.

Hell in a Cell is known to be the feud-ending match type in WWE. Before Drew McIntyre's attack on his rival two weeks ago, CM Punk declared that World Heavyweight Champion Gunther was next.
