Drew McIntyre questioned over recent controversial comments, WWE legend urges him to lose "entitlement"

Drew McIntyre was awarded the 'Best Talker of the Year Award' by Busted Open a few days ago. He made a live appearance on the podcast and ranted about how road families in the wrestling business are not real. McIntyre added that the WWE Universe would forget a wrestler when they are gone, despite whatever they'd sacrificed in the name of entertainment.

WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam had a few things to say about The Scottish Warrior's controversial statements. While the bit about sacrifice was legitimate, the legend questioned whether the real reason athletes got into the business was to entertain people or to lead a better life?

On the latest episode of his podcast 1 Of A Kind with RVD, Rob Van Dam said his piece about Drew McIntyre's shoot promo. He felt that the Scot had learned that wrestling families were not real the hard way, just as he had done many years ago. But in the end, there was no need to get bitter or have regrets because the individuals had made the choices, knowing what they were getting themselves into.

"Yeah, okay, it's a rough life. I chose to do it. That's because it was a better choice for me. I didn't want the conventional life, so you get that too, right? I'm just saying, if you roll back the entitlement just a little bit, it can open up your mind enough to see it from that wider view, and there's different angles to look at it," Van Dam said.

Van Dam noted that every athlete in the wrestling business dealt with the same problem and that this was not an isolated issue. The veteran advised McIntyre to lose the "entitlement" and "open up" his mind.

"Drew [McIntyre] learned, just like all of us, that you can't be at two places at one time. So he chose, just like we all did, to do the job, go to work. But the reason was because that's going to give you a better life overall," Van Dam added. [From 1:25:15 to 1:26:05]

As seen in the Instagram reel above, Drew McIntyre picked up a huge win over Sami Zayn in his first bout since October, at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event. Post-match, he claimed that there were four more to go.

This may have been a hint that he will be hunting down Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, Roman Reigns, and possibly Solo Sikoa. It was Solo who cost Drew McIntyre his match against The Tribal Chief in Cardiff two years ago at Clash at the Castle which became a curse. Where things go from here remains to be seen.
