Drew McIntyre reveals backstage reason why he wasn't on RAW in a surprising response to CM Punk
CM Punk managed to cut a promo uninterrupted on RAW and it was only because Drew McIntyre wasn't present. In an interesting response, McIntyre was surprisingly complimentary of his rival and revealed why he wasn't on RAW this week.
CM Punk cut a promo in the opening segment of RAW, stating that he has more matches than people might think while simultaneously accepting that the Hell in a Cell bout at Bad Blood could be the end of him. He expressed his willingness to end it all if needed.
Drew McIntyre seemed rather impressed with CM Punk's promo. Sitting at home with his wife and their cats, the Scotsman revealed that WWE management begged him to stay at home this week in order to save their main event for Bad Blood 2024:
"That's what I've been waiting for. I'm obviously at home, I just watched what you had to say and that look in the eyes. That's a man that's ready to go all the way - a man that wants to hurt me but a man that's willing to go on his back. This has been going on for...32 weeks now and I've been doing all the heavy lifting. Obviously, you got a break to spend some time off with your wife and stupid-looking dog. I didn't get any time off and I was begged to stay home this week because the brass was worried about their main event at Hell in a Cell if anything was to happen tonight. I took it because for once, I want a week off. I want to spend some time with my wife, and my cats."
Drew then made a promise to his opponent:
"That's the man I'm waiting to see. I can tell you how many matches you have left - one. I can make you a promise too - one of us is not walking out of Hell in a Cell. I'm going to enjoy my week off. Glad to see you, Phil."
This could mean that CM Punk vs Drew McIntyre headlines Bad Blood 2024. The other alternative could be Roman Reigns & Cody Rhodes vs. Solo Sikoa & Jacob Fatu for The Bloodline.
However, considering that the rivalry has been on for 32 weeks on RAW - it only makes sense to give them the headlining spot.
It's going to be psychological warfare for CM Punk and Drew McIntyre until October 5th.
