Drew McIntyre's souvenir stolen from CM Punk after brutal assault has a sentimental value
Drew McIntyre quit WWE on RAW last week after CM Punk cost him the World Heavyweight Championship main event in Glasgow on June 15. However, he showed up on SmackDown with a vengeance.
Punk was beaten to the pulp by McIntyre on SmackDown after the former gloated about what he had accomplished in a short time, with The Scottish Warrior walking out of the company. After dropping The Second City Saint in front of his hometown fans, McIntyre stole his bracelet. Turns out, it is a very personal one for Punk.
The said bracelet is always seen on CM Punk's wrist and it is now clear why. It contains two lives that matter to him most: his wife AJ Lee and their dog Larry. Their names were written on it. You can check it out below by swiping right:
How Punk will retaliate bears watching. Needless to say, it will be something to watch out for. While speaking to the media after Clash at the Castle last week, he disclosed that his in-ring return will happen sooner rather than later. With SummerSlam around the corner, Drew McIntyre vs. CM Punk could be one of the headliners of the show.
Paul Heyman's request to former Undisputed WWE Champion regarding CM Punk
Another interesting angle on SmackDown was the reunion of Paul Heyman and CM Punk. The two were inseparable between 2012 to 2013 on WWE television, before The Wiseman turned on Punk in favor of Brock Lesnar.
Off-screen, fans are well aware of their friendship. This was on display as Heyman got emotional talking to Punk in the opening segment of SmackDown.
Before the main event, The Wiseman and Solo Sikoa had a conversation backstage, in which Punk's former manager informed the latter that the one request he made to Roman Reigns was to lay off The Straight Edge Superstar.
Before The Bloodline could attack Punk earlier in the night, though, Cody Rhodes intervened and brought two baseball bats, one for The Second City Saint. The heels retreated. This set up the main event between Sikoa and The American Nightmare, which ended with the debut of Jacob Fatu. As for the former AEW World Champion, he was rushed to the hospital after McIntyre's attack.
