Drew McIntyre takes hilarious shot at CM Punk while promoting new project
Drew McIntyre continues to take shots at CM Punk following last night's edition of WWE RAW. It was confirmed during last night's show that McIntyre and Punk will be squaring off at SummerSlam next month in Cleveland, Ohio.
The Scottish Warrior referenced Colt Cabana in a shot at CM Punk earlier today and has continued to take shots at the former AEW star on social media. McIntyre took to his X account to promote an upcoming feature film he is a part of with former WWE star Batista. The movie is called The Killer's Game and will be released in theaters this September.
The veteran poked fun at the "Summer of Punk" and claimed that this year it was the "Summer of Hunk."
"The Summer of Hunk. #TheKillersGame | September 13 | @DaveBautista @Lionsgate," he wrote.
Drew McIntyre was suspended following Money in the Bank after putting his hands on WWE referees and catching RAW GM Adam Pearce with an elbow to the face. He was reinstated during last night's show, but Pearce announced that Seth Rollins would be serving as the special guest referee for the match at SummerSlam to try and keep things under control.
CM Punk has made Drew McIntyre's life miserable since his return to WWE
The rivalry between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre has gotten extremely personal over the past few months. Punk has cost McIntyre several opportunities to become World Champion, and the two stars will finally settle it in the ring at WWE SummerSlam.
Drew McIntyre battled Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship at Clash at the Castle, but CM Punk got involved. The Archer of Infamy was able to escape the Premium Live Event in Scotland as the World Heavyweight Champion. Earlier this month, McIntyre won the Men's Money in the Bank Ladder Match and attempted to cash in on the same night.
However, Punk attacked once again and McIntyre lost his opportunity to become champion. Damian Priest was able to retain at Money in the Bank and will be defending the title against Gunther at SummerSlam on August 3.
Punk wanted to fight last night on RAW, but Drew McIntyre refused to get in the ring. It will be interesting to see what happens when the two stars battle next month at SummerSlam.
