Drew McIntyre taunts CM Punk while sharing a photo with his real-life rival

Drew McIntyre has dug in deep to fire more shots at CM Punk, this time sharing a photo with one of his real-life rivals. The Scotsman has been relentless with his trolling of Punk and hasn't shied away from referencing the latter's rough times in the Jacksonville-based promotion. He has done it again, this time sharing a picture with AEW star, Jack Perry.

CM Punk made his return to WWE after his infamously documented fallout with All Elite Wrestling after several controversies that included backstage fights and an unhealthy working environment. One of these controversies would involve the Straight Edge Superstar getting into a real argument with Jack Perry backstage that escalated into a heated skirmish between the two stars at AEW All In 2023.

The fight would happen over CM Punk telling Perry that he didn't need to use real glass in his match which would ultimately lead to a brawl after they exchanged words. Now, Drew McIntyre has brought up the controversy again as a way to taunt the Second City Saint over his past controversies.

The Scottish Warrior took to Instagram today to share a photo standing next to AEW star, Jack Perry and referenced one of the latter's infamous lines pointed toward CM Punk during his match at All In 2023. McIntyre has since deleted his tweet.

"It’s a real photo, cry us a river" he wrote in a now deleted tweet.

Former WWE manager praises unlikely star for CM Punk and Drew McIntyre for buildup

CM Punk and Drew McIntyre have one of the hottest feuds running in WWE at this time and have taken their rivalry to new levels with each passing month.

Adam Pearce has also added more intensity to the feud as it escalated and reached a fever pitch since it started in November last year. The feud has now reached a boiling point and is set to officially explode in a singles match at WWE SummerSlam, with Seth Rollins as the special guest referee.

Former WWE manager, Jim Cornette praised the RAW General Manager on his podcast, for how well he had handled the buildup to this feud. Speaking on Jim Cornette's Drive-Thru, he stated that he thought Adam Pearce had matched the intensity and brought more character to the rivalry.

"Pearce is doing a tremendous job because you can tell they're letting him be more of a personality and more of himself rather than the dry guy that was making a match or standing in the ring for a contract signing two years ago. Now he's firing up because he can cut promos. He was a wrestler [...] that many of these audiences may not know," said Cornette. [From 1:01 - 1:30]
