Drew McIntyre teases something huge from WWE; new championship coming soon

Drew McIntyre might be busy preparing for his Hell in a Cell Match against CM Punk, but he recently teased something big from WWE. McIntyre agrees with fans who want the company to add more championships to the main roster.

The Scottish Warrior is set to enter Hell in a Cell with his bitter rival in what appears to be the last chapter of their feud. Despite the intensity and anticipation for the match, the former WWE Champion still had the time to address something that fans have been craving for a while.

Speaking to Fox News Digital in an interview, McIntyre was asked about his thoughts on WWE possibly adding mid-card championships for its women's division on the main roster. He thought it would be happening in the future due to the size of the division.

"That's certainly something that's going to come around in the near future. And you don't just bring titles in for the sake of bringing titles [especially] if you don't have the adequate depth on the roster. But now, to watch just how far the women's revolution has come, the revolution is such a distant memory now. The women have been killing it for years now," McIntyre said. [H/T: Fox News]

Drew McIntyre added that it wasn't possible in previous years because there was no depth on the main roster. However, it quickly changed as the company grew and added many talented female WWE Superstars.

It should be pointed out that NXT introduced the Women's North American Championship due to the depth of its women's division.

Drew McIntyre recalls falling at Hell in a Cell in 2020

In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Drew McIntyre discussed the bump he took during his Hell in a Cell Match against Randy Orton at the event of the same name during the COVID-19 pandemic. McIntyre fell off the side of the structure onto the announce table, which he called the worst bump of his career.

"I thought I legitimately broke my neck and broke something in my back. I bit through my tongue. I was spitting up blood, which we actually incorporated into the match. It was a cool visual. (...) Legitimately, the worst fall of my life. I've had these conversations with some of the other guys, like Seth Rollins. If we could both take back one thing in our career, it would be falling off [Hell in a Cell]. Never mind the stuff that happened inside the cell," McIntyre said. [H/T: Sports Illustrated]

Drew McIntyre vs. CM Punk inside Hell in a Cell is scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 5 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
