Dutch Mantell predicts winner of WWE King of the Ring 2024 (Exclusive)
The King of the Ring moved along on SmackDown, with WWE confirming the semi-final matches for the tournament. Dutch Mantell predicted Gunther would emerge victorious while speaking to the latest episode of the show on Smack Talk.
Gunther and Jey Uso picked up wins over Kofi Kingston and Ilja Dragunov, respectively, and are now on course for a high-profile clash to determine who will be in the finals.
Randy Orton defeated Carmelo Hayes, while Tama Tonga went over LA Knight on WWE SmackDown to book their upcoming semi-final showdown.
With four contestants remaining, Dutch Mantell, while speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Smack Talk, backed Gunther to win it all and felt the time was right for The Ring General to get pushed to the moon.
"Gunther! I think it's Gunther's time! He's been on that secondary channel, so I think they bring it back home and put him back on SmackDown. Gunther and Orton would tear it down. But I'm kind of over the Jey Uso and Tonga, whatever his name is. I'm kind of over that now." [From 24:00 onwards]
Dutch Mantell clarified that he knew a KOTR win wouldn't mean Gunther would go to SmackDown. However, Mantell has long been an advocate to get Gunther back to SmackDown, and it seems like the legendary manager hasn't changed his mind about it.
"I know that [Gunther won't go to SmackDown], but it's time for Gunther to move." [20:40 - 20:45]
Dutch Mantell would love to see Gunther and Randy Orton in the tournament decider, and we're certain several fans might agree with the former WWE personality.
