Eric Bischoff shares major update about his WWE status following recent return

Eric Bischoff recently provided a major update on his WWE status. The legend appeared on the December 3 edition of NXT to promote the title match between Trick Williams and Ridge Holland which took place last night at Deadline.

Speaking on his 83 Weeks podcast, Eric Bischoff shared a major update on his status with the Stamford-based company. The veteran disclosed that he did not have a Legends deal with the promotion and appeared for them because it sounded like a fun opportunity.

"I did two WWE episodes. One on NXT and one for the WWE on the A&E Network. Then 48 hours later, I'm on an MLW show, who, by the way, was in a lawsuit with WWE... I don't even have a Legends agreement with WWE. I don't have a written agreement with anybody. I don't even have a handshake deal with anybody. If TNA were to call me and say. 'Hey, we're doing something. We'd like you to show up.' If it fit into my schedule and it sounded fun, I'll do it," he said. [H/T Fightful]

Trick Williams defeated Ridge Holland to retain the NXT Championship at Deadline last night in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Eric Bischoff praises WWE legend John Cena

Wrestling veteran Eric Bischoff recently spoke highly about John Cena and claimed that the latter was a class act.

Cena made a surprise appearance during Money in the Bank earlier this year and announced he would be retiring from the ring in 2025. During an appearance on Sportskeeda Wrestling's What Were They Thinking? available via Backstage Pass, Bischoff shared that John Cena was a joy to work with backstage. The legend noted that Cena always had a positive energy about him and he enjoyed being around him.

"Such a class act, was then, still is. I just enjoyed being around him, working with him. He was always positive. I never saw anything that remotely looked like an attitude. He was just always really positive and eager. And I liked being around that kind of energy," he said. [14:59 - 15:20]

Eric Bischoff remains a very entertaining personality and has made appearances for All Elite Wrestling in the past as well. However, the 69-year-old recently suggested that there was no hope for AEW moving forward.

It will be interesting to see if Bischoff makes any more appearances in the Stamford-based promotion down the line.
