WWE News: Eric Rowan undergoes surgery to repair torn rotator cuff

Rowan is expected to miss 6 months of action

It appears that after Luke Harper and Bray Wyatt himself another former Wyatt Family member will have to take time off from WWE due to an injury within the timespan of a year.

411 Mania is reporting that the former Wyatt Family Member Eric Rowan has undergone a surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff this past Monday. According to the site, Rowan suffered this injury during a recent Live Event.

Although the exact date or place where he suffered the injury has not been revealed yet, it's widely believed to have happened during Rowan's last Live Event appearance at 26th September in Wheeling, West Virginia where he lost to Apollo Crews in a one on one match.

Till now, WWE has not released any official statement regarding his injury, but the expected recovery time from this type of surgery is said to be around 4 to 6 months.

If these reports are true, then it will most likely mean that the former NXT star could not only be absent from the WWE programming for the rest of year but he could very well miss the whole WrestleMania season including the 33rd Annual Grand event as well.

It's notable here that both Luke Harper and Bray Wyatt suffered different injuries during this past WrestleMania season which saw them missing several months of action. According to the reports, Bray suffered a back injury back in February this year and Harper allegedly dislocated his patella the following month.

While the former Leader Wyatt Family made a quick recovery and returned to WWE within 2 months of time, the former member of his faction was not so lucky as the injury has kept him out of action even till now.

It's also worth noticing that recent reports suggested that Luke Harper could be heading towards the red brand and join Raw upon his imminent return. However now, as SmackDown is already believed to have a thin roster and Eric's injury would only make it shorter, it's more than likely that WWE could reverse their decision and send Harper to smackDown instead.

Eric Rowan was drafted to SmackDown Live during WWE's recent Brand Extension drafts which saw the company splitting their roster into two parts.

Since the draft event, Rowan has continued his alliance with Bray Wyatt and has attacked several of the Bray's opponent including Randy Orton who is expected to face the former Wyatt Family leader at the upcoming No Mercy Event.
