Ex-champion reveals major career move outside WWE
One of WWE's veteran wrestlers has started a new career path during his time away from the ring. While he has not been inside the ring to compete for years now, Montel Vontavious Porter (MVP) intends to change that before he has to hang up his boots for good.
MVP, 50, assured fans in May that he has not permanently retired and that he hopes to get ready for at least a few more matches. His most recent work was as the manager of The Nigerian Giant, Omos.
Taking to Instagram, the former United States Champion disclosed that he taught his first class earlier today as a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. He was awarded the honor in April 2024 after 11 years.
MVP's last major storyline as an in-ring competitor was against Bobby Lashley in 2022. The veteran recently dropped a bombshell on social media when he revealed that Triple H was not interested in reviving The Hurt Business, a faction made popular by The All Mighty and MVP.
Many fans have cited the four-man team as one of the best in recent times and commented that WWE disbanded them prematurely.
Jonathan Coachman comments on The Bloodline's involvement in WWE nixing a reunion
The Hurt Business disbanded in early 2021 after Bobby Lashley became WWE Champion for the first time in his nearly two-decade-long wrestling career. Jonathan Coachman recently discussed the faction on The Angle Podcast.
Coachman has not been involved with World Wrestling Entertainment for many years now, but back in the day, he was a memorable character in the program.
Naturally, he does not know the ins and outs of how things were handled. Still, the former RAW General Manager claimed that he heard stories about a nixed reunion because of The Bloodline's growing popularity.
"I've seen different stories, but I don't know how much is true or not. The Hurt Business not being reconvened because of The Bloodline and that, I don't know how much of it is true. I became a big fan of MVP back in the day, and his story is amazing. We'll have him on our show sometimes. But spending all of those years in prison, turning your life around, and then coming out and making a name for yourself is amazing."
Lashley currently runs The Pride on SmackDown, having recruited the Street Profits and B-Fab. The new faction was victorious at WrestleMania XL, competing in a Street Fight against Karrion Kross and the latter's own team, The Final Testament.
