Ex-employee makes massive claim about Cody Rhodes' future in WWE

Cody Rhodes returned to WWE over two years ago to become one of the top babyfaces in the company. A former employee recently predicted the future of The American Nightmare's character. This was Tommy Carlucci, a veteran with experience of over three decades working with WWE.

Since his comeback, Rhodes has portrayed a full-on babyface persona, seemingly following in John Cena's footsteps. Nevertheless, several fans and experts have speculated whether the 39-year-old Undisputed WWE Champion would ever turn heel. Speaking on Behind The Turnbuckle: The War Room podcast, Carlucci claimed that would never happen.

Carlucci, who spent over 30 years in the Stamford-based company, disclosed that he believes Rhodes will remain a babyface as long as he is in the promotion.

"He's gonna be the ultimate babyface. I can never see him going heel while he's here at the WWE. And it's kinda in line with John Cena and in that business model," he said. [0:00 - 0:11]

Cody Rhodes recently explained his WWE character

In a recent interview with Vegas Revealed, Cody Rhodes spoke about his character, claiming that many fans do not understand why he is not a heel.

The American Nightmare admitted that his wardrobe, hairstyle, and attitude are usually associated with heel characters. However, he stated that he was lucky to be an old-school babyface.

"There's a large portion of the audience that doesn't understand why I'm not a heel because they think like he's got like the bleach blond hair, all the suits, I try to have like an advanced vernacular when I'm speaking. All these things typically go with like, 'Well, like, we boo that guy.' For some reason, it just goes the other way at WWE. Again, our fans control the pace of our product, so they like all this stuff. I don't know. Most people would say that's definitely a heel, 'He's a bad guy down in there,' you know, but no, I'm lucky enough to be an old-school babyface," he said.

Cody Rhodes is set to go one-on-one against Gunther this Saturday at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia. It would be interesting to see if he would leave Riyadh as the first-ever Men's Crown Jewel Champion.
