Ex-employee warns WWE against booking Rhea Ripley & Jey Uso in romantic angle for 2 major reasons

Rhea Ripley and Jey Uso have been teasing a romantic angle on WWE RAW over the past few weeks. However, a former WWE employee recently warned the Triple H-led creative team from going in that direction.

After Dominik Mysterio turned on The Eradicator at SummerSlam 2024, Jey expressed interest in the former Women's World Champion. Ripley also seemingly teased having an on-screen romance with the newly crowned Intercontinental Champion. Nevertheless, former WWE employee Tommy Carlucci has claimed that it would be a bad idea.

In the latest episode of the Behind The Turnbuckle: The Last Word podcast, Carlucci, who spent over 30 years in the Stamford-based company, claimed that a romantic angle between The Nightmare and The YEET Master would make no sense. He also pointed out that the angle wouldn't help either star.

"God knows, I do not wanna see them see her, and we talked about this a week ago, being something into a romantic storyline with Jey, which would be freaking ridiculous. It would make no sense at all. It doesn't help either one of them. So, I hope that doesn't happen," he said. [24:50-25:07]

Rhea Ripley reacts to Jey Uso winning the Intercontinental Championship on WWE RAW

Last night on RAW, Jey Uso captured his first-ever singles title in WWE when he defeated Bron Breakker to become the new Intercontinental Champion.

After "Yeeting" with the crowd during the 39-year-old's entrance ahead of his title match on the red brand, Rhea Ripley sent a message to the former Bloodline member after his victory. The Eradicator took to her X (Twitter) account and wrote that Jey deserved to win the singles title after 14 years of hard work.

"14 years. He DESERVED this! Take yo[ur] moment, Uce!" Ripley wrote.

While Jey won the Intercontinental Championship on RAW, Ripley will have a chance to recapture the Women's World Title at Bad Blood. She will challenge reigning champion Liv Morgan in Atlanta next month.
