Ex-WWE employee bashes Sheamus and former World Champion; claims they "never drew a dime" (Exclusive)
Former WWE head writer Vince Russo came down hard on the likes of Sheamus and Finn Balor.
The Celtic Warrior returned to Monday Night RAW last week and took down Ivar from the Viking Raiders. However, the wrestling community went on a meltdown online, claiming that the star was not in his best physical shape. Balor on the other hand, also signed a lucrative deal with WWE to continue his run with the company.
This week on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW, Russo claimed that both stars were well past their prime. He felt that they never really got themselves over as top stars for the company despite being World Champions at different points in their career. The former writer felt that WWE was holding on to them because they were good workers.
"Athletes have a shelf life and after their shelf life, they retire. They become commentators or they get a bench job managing a team. Bro, Sheamus' time is over, it's over bro. As far as I'm concerned, Finn Balor brings nothing to the table, absolutely nothing bro. They keep putting these guys on TV year after year after year. The Sheamus' and the Finn Balors, they never drew a dime. Yeah bro, they're good little hands as Dutch Mantell would say. They're good little workers. Bro, there's a billion good little workers out there." [6:51 onwards]
This week on RAW, Sheamus confronted long-time friend Drew McIntyre. The two stars took some verbal shots at each other during the promo segment. Despite not being at his physical peak, the Celtic Warrior defeated Shinsuke Nakamura this week.
It will be interesting to see how he builds momentum as WWE goes on the road for their international premium live events.
