Ex-WWE employee was "challenging" and "dangerous," Jim Ross says

Jim Ross worked for WWE for a combined 23 years between 1993 and 2019. The veteran commentator recently opened up about his issues with former WWE employee Lisa Wolfe.

In the mid-1990s, Wolfe worked closely with then-WWE Chairman Vince McMahon. The former Human Resources executive was in the room when McMahon informed Ross he was being let go by the company in 1994.

On his Grilling JR podcast, Ross told host Conrad Thompson that Wolfe thought she knew more than she did:

"It was challenging to work with her, I'll just be frank about it. She's one of those dangerous people, Conrad, you're probably around them every day to some degree. It's hard to communicate with someone that thinks they know all they need to know about the business that they're in, and that's how she struck me. She had enough knowledge to be dangerous. I think she had a good soul, a good heart, but she was lost at sea." [11:21 – 11:52]

Ross' departure from WWE did not last long. The popular commentator returned to the company after sending a heartfelt letter to McMahon.

Jim Ross on Lisa Wolfe's involvement in his WWE exit

In February 1994, Vince McMahon informed Jim Ross he was being let go from his contract. Ross still had another three months left on his deal and questioned why his former boss would release him without notice.

Ross added that Lisa Wolfe interrupted the conversation by saying she would discuss the matter privately with McMahon:

"She included herself in every solution, undeservedly so, and I knew it, Vince knew I knew it, but we let her talk." [16:51 – 17:03]

After being rehired, Ross established himself as the voice of WWE's Attitude Era. He also worked as a talent relations executive and helped recruit up-and-coming wrestlers.
