Ex-WWE personality slams Jey Uso's romantic angle with Rhea Ripley

WWE is heading towards The Biggest Party of The Summer and Jey Uso might not compete at the event in Ohio. Meanwhile, former RAW commentator Jonathan Coachman slammed Main Event Jey's romantic on-screen aspirations for Rhea Ripley.

Jey Uso is arguably the most over star on Monday Night RAW, who is not in the main event scene. However, the 38-year-old star has been trying to link up with The Judgment Day's Rhea Ripley on weekly television as there's tension between Mami and 'Dirty' Dominik Mysterio.

The romantic angle hasn't sat well with Uso's father and WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi. Moreover, Jonathan Coachman agreed with the veteran and slammed Jey Uso's booking as angles like this can affect a superstar's personal life. The former RAW commentator stated that it's lazy booking for the former Undisputed Tag Team Champion, as he's the most over-talent in the company.

Check out his tweet below:

"Just waiting for the “smarks” to tell the legend Rikishi “it’s not real. It’s a work. What are you worried about”. These spouses and those at home it’s very real to them. Plus just lazy booking also. Jey Uso is the most over-talent they have right now. And he’s stuck chasing Rhea around," Coachman wrote.

Jey Uso asked Rhea Ripley out after WWE RAW

In 2022, Rhea Ripley turned Dominik Mysterio into a man and became his Mami on RAW. Ripley and her Latino Heat were unbreakable and often helped each other to keep their respective titles across RAW and NXT.

However, Rhea Ripley's absence from the company created a rift between the two. Later, Liv Morgan wanted the second-generation WWE star for herself after he accidentally helped her win the Women's World Championship from Becky Lynch.

Meanwhile, Jey Uso has been trying to impress Rhea Ripley after she returned to the Stamford-based company and confronted Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio in a compromising position in the main event of RAW in July 2024.

After the show, Main Event Jey asked Mami out, as the second-generation superstar isn't treating her right. He also suggested Waffle House as a place to visit.

This happened after Jey Uso defeated Dominik Mysterio in a one-on-one match on Monday Night RAW. It'll be interesting to see what Main Event Jey does next on the red brand.
