Ex-WWE star clears the air on major botch at WrestleMania 35

For more than one reason, WWE's 35th edition of WrestleMania was special for the company and its fans. Ronda Rousey recently addressed a popular misconception and cleared the air on the botch in the main event.

In 2019, WWE made history as it was the first time women headlined the event. Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, and Ronda Rousey headlined a show with 16 matches. However, the finish of the match raised more questions than answers.

In an interview on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, Ronda Rousey stated that her shoulders were supposed to be flat on the ground, but it couldn't happen on time before the referee made the final call. She further added she didn't get enough time to work on the match.

"No, no, no. I didn't think my shoulders were flush. I was trying to flatten out. But I think that we could have used it and kept it going, but they never let us," Rousey said. [H/T - CVV]

Ronda Rousey further added WWE didn't give them enough time to execute the match

WWE Superstars spend hours at the Performance Center honing their skills and working on their matches and timings. Unfortunately, Ronda Rousey claims she was often not given those opportunities.

In the same interview with Chris Van Vliet, the former RAW and SmackDown Women's Champion stated the company built the program for a year. However, the match and the details around it were thrown together at the last minute compared to her debut at WrestleMania 34.

"But that's the difference between a match that got thrown together the night before and the debut match, which is a match that had been put together over weeks with tons of support and practice and opinions and everything like that. Why did we put a whole year into promoting and building this match, and then it's just thrown together at the last second? We were still figuring it out when we were at the venue, and that's what a lack of practice and rehearsal does," Rousey said. [H/T - CVV]
