Ex-WWE star makes a bold claim about Randy Orton's backstage image

WWE's Apex Predator had a wild image back in the day with several outrageous stories about Randy Orton floating across the web. Recently, Maven spoke about The Viper's backstage image and made a bold claim on the star's current standing behind the scenes.

Randy Orton is no stranger to controversy as The Viper was often surrounded by quite a few in his early days as a third-generation performer. The Legend Killer has been suspended in the past and the former World Champion has worked on himself over the years.

In a recent YouTube video, Maven debunked a few rumors where some superstars were labeled as jerks behind the scenes. The three-time Hardcord Champion made a bold claim by stating that he heard The Viper is much better now backstage than he used to be during his prime.

"A lot of people have told me that Randy [Orton] is way better now than he used to be. The jerk that you think Randy was or possibly still is, I guarantee you he was to deal with more stressful situations during a week of live televisions than most people do in an entire year," Maven said. Randy Orton recently returned to WWE SmackDown

Regardless of all the shenanigans around Randy Orton, the third-generation star was given a handful of chances to strive in the industry as he did when he went on to capture the WWE World Championship on multiple occasions.

Last year, he returned to the Stamford-based promotion for the first time in over a year after a life-threatening injury. Earlier this year, he made a surprise appearance on Monday Night RAW and challenged Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Upon losing to him in Berlin, The Viper didn't appear on WWE's weekly TV for a while. On the recent edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Randy Orton returned to the blue brand and aligned with Kevin Owens to take on A-Town Down Under (Austin Theory and Grayson Waller).

The two have spent the better half of the year teaming up on SmackDown and it looks like they'll continue to do so in the coming weeks as well.
