Ex-WWE star spotted with Damage CTRL member
Kairi Sane of the Damage CTRL faction was recently photographed with a former WWE Superstar. She was released from the Stamford-based promotion in April 2024.
On the December 2, 2024, edition of Monday Night RAW, Sane, and IYO SKY squared off with Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez in a tag team match. In the end, the Judgment Day stars emerged victorious over the Damage CTRL members.
Meanwhile, Kairi Sane was seen in a picture with former WWE star Xia Li. The two close friends were photographed while having a meal at a restaurant.
"Ahoy @KAIRI_official 🙌🏽," she wrote.

The Chinese native was let go from the Sports Entertainment Giant on April 19 earlier this year. Two days prior to her release, Li also faced Natalya in a losing effort during a match on the Main Event show in Quebec, Canada.
The 36-year-old female star is currently signed to TNA Wrestling under the ring name Léi Ying Lee. During the October 31, 2024 episode of Impact Wrestling, Lee defeated Maggie Moore in a one-on-one match.
Xia Li reflects on her run in WWE
Following her departure from the Stamford-based promotion, Xia Li was set to make her MMA debut on August 3. However, the fight was postponed after she tested positive for COVID.
During an appearance on the Busted Open podcast a few months ago, the Chinese wrestler revealed that she felt more freedom after her WWE release, allowing her to pursue her passion for mixed martial arts. Xia Li recalled a previous attempt to compete in MMA while she was in NXT, but the plan was ultimately scrapped.
"I had many things even before I’m in the WWE but now, I feel more freedom. Yes, and right now, I can do fight. I’ve been (wanting a) fight for many years. Last time, I was in NXT. I almost get a fight but they find out so I had to cancel. So, the first day I get out, so I called my coach, ‘Hi coach. When is the next fight?’ And then my coach is like, ‘Oh, August.’ I was like, ‘Okay, I’m in.’ That’s the first thing after release, I call my coach. So I can get this back," Li said.
WWE NXT and TNA Wrestling have had a collaborative relationship, with talent from both promotions appearing on each other's platforms. It remains to be seen if fans will see Xia Li again on NXT television.
