Ex-WWE star weighs in on claims that fans have lost interest in CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre (Exclusive)

WWE stars CM Punk and Drew McIntyre will face off in arguably the biggest match of SummerSlam. Seth Rollins will be officiating the match as the special guest referee.

CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre is a match a long time in the making. However, recently former WWE manager Eric Bischoff claimed that the feud had dragged on for too long. He pointed out that since the Best in the World was injured and couldn't get physical, WWE was pushed into a corner with how they could book the lead-up to this match.

Speaking with Sportskeeda, former WWE star and Samoan family member Afa Anoa'i Jr. dismissed claims that WWE had spoiled the feud with the long build-up. He felt CM Punk and Seth Rollins doing ESPN interviews added more credibility to the match. The former WWE star was excited for this match and it would be an amazing showdown between the two megastars:

"I don't think that they cooled it off. I mean, they're still the guys that are on ESPN, doing all the promo hype packages and stuff like that. Yeah, I don't think it's cooled off. It has my interest. I'm really excited for this matchup and just a conclusion to an ongoing feud." [From 24:32 - 24:53]

During the same conversation, Afa also mentioned that Seth Rollins would be the difference maker in this match:

"I love the storyline that these two, Punk and McIntyre have been doing. They've been going at each other online and stuff like that to add real-ish moments to it. I think it's absolutely gonna be Rollins that's the deciding factor in this one." [From 20:38 - 21:05]

He detailed that CM Punk and Drew McIntyre had done a great job of building up the feud on social media and now fans were excited to see them finally lock horns in the ring.
