Ex-WWE veteran rips apart Sami Zayn's booking; claims his match was a "waste of time" (Exclusive)
Former WWE head writer Vince Russo spoke about Sami Zayn being booked in the main event of RAW. The star was in a two-out-of-three falls match against Bron Breakker for the Intercontinental Championship.
Zayn captured the first fall with a Helluva Kick. However, the champ came back strongly hitting his opponent with two vicious Spears for the second fall. The rookie picked up the decisive third pinfall after connecting a third Spear on Sami Zayn as he jumped from the top rope.
This week on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW, Russo claimed the main event was very predictable. He felt everyone already knew that Sami was not winning back the IC Title from Breakker just days after the latter won the gold at SummerSlam. The veteran writer detailed that fans would stop tuning into the show once Monday Night Football started in a few weeks.
"Like bro, you really think Sami was going over in that last match? You really think so? What a waste of time. Two weeks from now, they're not gonna bother watching that when Monday Night Football is on." [From 18:00 onwards]
Breakker has firmly established himself as a credible champion with a couple of major victories over Sami Zayn.
It will be interesting to see who stands up to him next to challenge for the prestigious Intercontinental Championship.
